RahXephon; am I watching Evangelion again?

- 6.10.25 21:03, 2nd episode live thoughts: I kinda feel at home. Lately my escapism has broaden (or narrowed, depends on how you look at it) to all kinds of japan culture- I'm playing mostly capcom/ konami classics, developed a bit of evangelion obsession (every modern man needs to have that phase) and after watching Lain I needed something more feelgood-heartworming-GIANTROBOTS thing. so I'm trying my luck with RahXephon and right now it feels like Evangelion but without all the "everybody loses their mind" part (which I really like but i need something easier as of now). It feels like a different reimaganing of Eva. so it got me intersted ill keep you posted
